What should I do to implement a SSL Certificate for Covalent Apache ERS 2.4?

Please follow these instructions to install your SSL certificate on Covalent Apache ERS 2.4

1. Get your intermediate certificate. Copy and paste the contents to intermediate.crt by using a text editor software (such as Notepad or Wordpad). Save the file in /usr/local/ssl/crt/.

2. Once you received your SSL certificate by e-mail, please copy and paste it into a text file (with Notepad or Wordpad) and save the file with the .crt extension. (Include the tags -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE-----).

3. Select Install CA Signed Certificate from the Covalent SSL Certificate and Key Management Tool. You are prompted for the path that contains the signed server certificate file (from step 2). The signed server certificate is stored in the directory /path/to/ssl1.5/certs.

4. In httpd.conf, you will need to add the following SSL directive in the Virtual Host settings for your site:

SSLCACertificateFile /usr/local/ssl/crt/intermediate.crt (from step 1)

5. Restart your server

/path/to/apache1.3/bin/covalent-faststart-ctl stop

/path/to/apache1.3/bin/covalent-faststart-ctl startssl
